Festival of Tables to benefit Child & Family Services presented by Huntington is expected to attract 1,200 people; 400 at Friday's Gala Preview and 800 at Saturday's Luncheon. Past events have attracted 800 people to a Saturday luncheon.

What IS Festival of Tables to benefit Child & Family Services presented by Huntington?
The primary fundraising event for Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan. Festival of Tables celebrates the art of home entertaining. More than 40 exhibitors, including interior designers and individuals decorate dining tables which fill the event space. Designed tables, some of which are in a raffle, are judged in a variety of categories including Most Popular and First Time Participant. 2008 will be the seventh year of the event.

When is it held?
The 2008 event will feature 2 opportunities to participate: Gala Preview on Friday, May 9 in the evening, Luncheon on Saturday, May 10 during the day.

Where will it be?
In the Mercato and the front lawn at the Village of Grand Traverse Commons, the former State Mental Hospital, in Traverse City, Michigan.

Who is Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan and what do they do?
Child & Family Services is a private 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing human and social services programs to a 13 county region in northwestern Michigan serving some 3,500 people per year. The mission of Child & Family Services is to promote the safety and well-being of children, adults, and families by providing services that offer opportunities and support for social and emotional healing and growth. Programs supporting this mission include foster care and special needs adoption, infant and open adoption, supervised safe visitation in strenuous family situations, child abuse prevention and education, and counseling for individuals and families. Child & Family Services is there to support those who need it most: children.

The net goal for this event is $100,000, nearly double the net amount raised in 2007.
